Bringing clarity to big, messy problems.
Over my 13+ year career, I've worked as an individual contributor and design leader: sometimes embedded with a team for years at a time, sometimes brought in for a focused period to make sense of the mess and set teams up for what comes next.
Whether modernizing a legacy platform, introducing AI into established workflows, or improving team processes, my focus has always been the same: help teams navigate complexity and move forward with confidence.

BRINGING CLARITY TO BIG MESSY PROBLEMS
How I deliver
impact
Remote-first since 2017, collaborating with teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Experienced designing AI-powered tools and leveraging AI throughout my design process.
Led teams across 0-to-1 product launches, enterprise-scale systems, and legacy modernization.
Well-versed in regulated environments where compliance, security, and accessibility are strict constraints.
Lead through collaboration
Some projects require hands-on design. Others require facilitation, coaching, or connecting teams that have fallen out of alignment. I adapt my approach to what the organization needs, helping teams move forward together rather than working in isolation.
Simplify complex problems
Many of the initiatives I've worked on involve interconnected systems, competing priorities, and organizational complexity that can't be solved through design alone. I bring those pieces together into a shared direction that gives teams a clear path forward.
Use research to reduce uncertainty
Research gives teams the confidence to make better decisions. By combining stakeholder insights, user feedback, analytics, and workshops, I help uncover what's really happening beneath the surface and identify where the greatest opportunities exist.
Measure success by outcomes
The most rewarding projects create value beyond the final deliverable. Whether it's a more intuitive product, stronger collaboration, a healthier team culture, or a more efficient workflow, the real impact comes from creating change that lasts.
Modernizing a 15-year-old legacy publishing system
Morgan Stanley's publishing systems had reached the stage many legacy applications reach: a lot of people depend on it, but nobody quite trusts it. The tools had accumulated fifteen years of complexity, resulting in slower workflows and a publishing process that felt heavier than it needed to be.
AI-powered tools to accelerate compliance review
Every research report published at Morgan Stanley must be manually reviewed by Compliance before it reaches a client. The volume is massive, and back and forth revisions pile up. I led the design of a suite of AI tools that integrate into the authoring and review workflow, built to support Compliance staff and speed up the review process.
MY IMPACT
- Designed the review workflow around trust: every flagged issue shows the policy it conflicts with, the rationale, and a suggested fix.
- Built detection patterns for distinct issue types, from inflammatory or exaggerated language to numeric discrepancies between report figures and source data.
- Kept the human in control: the tool accelerates review but analysts and Compliance make every final call, a requirement for adoption in a regulated environment.
MY IMPACT
- Successfully replaced the legacy systems with a modern web-based platform that processes 65,000+ publications yearly.
- 100% adoption across the global department, with faster task completion reported across the most heavily used workflows.
- Redesigned complex editorial workflows, ranging from authoring, reviewing, approving, and distribution.
- Positioned UX as a strategic partner within the publishing department; navigated a highly complex organizational landscape; built trust and alignment across all stakeholder levels.
Migrating performance data to a unified metrics platform
Morgan Stanley's Global Management team needed a centralized way to track analyst activity, client engagement, and interaction time across all regions and business functions. Previously, data was scattered across disconnected dashboards, manual reports, and legacy systems that couldn't talk to each other.
MY IMPACT
- Designed a suite of dashboards that consolidates data from four previously disconnected source systems into a single unified platform.
- Ten thousand pages of monthly manual reports replaced by live, self-serve views with seven years of historical trend data.
- Management has reported significant time savings in collecting data and assembling reports.

Modernizing the backbone system powering 200+ motor vehicle registries across Alberta
The Government of Alberta's motor vehicle registry platform enables registry agents to process services for citizens across the province. On any given day, an agent might use the system to handle a vehicle registration, issue a permit, pull a driver record, and process a title transfer, all with a citizen waiting at the counter.
MY IMPACT
- Conducted a heuristic evaluation and documented usability issues, severity, impacts, and actionable recommendations.
- Resolved accessibility gaps including broken keyboard navigation, color contrast ratios, alt labels, language, and screen reader compatibility.
- To be deployed across 200 registry locations province-wide, the redesign includes accessibility fixes, smarter navigation, and layout enhancements built for agents processing millions of motor vehicle transactions annually.

Led a design team for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation website rebrand
CMHC is a prominent Crown corporation specializing in mortgage loan insurance, assisted housing, and research initiatives. CMHC undertook an initiative to overhaul its digital services, marked by a migration of editorial tools to Sitecore, and a full rebranding of the public-facing website.
MY IMPACT
- I led a small team of designers, overseeing task allocation and ensuring milestones were delivered within project timelines.
- Tailored my leadership approach to the unique needs of each designer, whether that meant giving hands-on guidance, nudging toward a stronger solution, or stepping back to let them take ownership.
- Coordinated with the content strategy team to support the content migration, and ensured the design templates effectively aligned with the finalized content inventory.
- Work with the security team to capture requirements around user authentication and data handling.
Bring me your messiest problem.
The hardest problems are usually the most interesting ones. If you're facing one, whether it's a platform that's outgrown itself, a product that's become harder to navigate, or a strategy that needs a designer in the room, I'd like to hear about it.
